Our repertoire ...

We have a large and varied repertoire which includes classical and contemporary pieces from composers such as John Rutter, songs from the shows, as well as spiritual and popular songs. Most of the songs we perform are arranged for four parts - Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass. The choir buys multiple copies of all pieces performed so that members can be provided with the scores needed for each concert.

2016 Summer Concerts ...

The concerts in The Church of St John the Baptist, Keyston and The Church of St Margaret, Upton were both hugely successful. The former raised money for the church fabric fund and for the Hunts Community Cancer Network. The latter was performed in aid of church maintenance. Both concerts were very well attended and the enthusiastic audiences enjoyed traditional and popular songs, songs from the shows and from the movies. Our Musical Director, Angus Davidson, had put together a varied programme of music. A medley of Beatles numbers, songs by Elton John, Andrew Lloyd Webber, John Rutter and Ralph Vaughan Williams sat comfortably alongside folk songs. Our guest performers at Upton were Leah Whitney (recorder), Elizabeth King (flute) and Eleanor King (piano).

2014 Winter Concerts ...

Our Christmas season concerts were the first for our new Musical Director, Joanna Goldspink, who took over the baton at the end of August and our new accompanist, Martha Page, who joined us at the same time.

We were delighted to be invited back by the Rotary Clubs of Huntingdon and Kimbolton Castle to perform in aid of their charities and, of course, by Sawtry All Saints Church.

All concerts were well attended and the audiences joined in enthusiastically with traditional carols, Jingle Bells and the 12 Days of Christmas. The world premier of an arrangement of ‘Silent Night’ by our MD was very well received and the inclusion in the programme of songs from ‘Frozen’ was a definite hit, popular with children and adults alike.

2014 Summer Concerts ...

Our 2014 summer concerts were at Thorney Abbey, near Peterborough, on Saturday 21 June; Huntingdon Methodist Church on Saturday 28th June and Sawtry Methodist Church on Friday 4th July. All concerts were in aid of the respective church funds.

From the jungle to the woods, the grasslands of Kenya to the Northumberland coastline - these are just some of the places our summer programme took us to.
Songs such as The Bare Necessities from The Jungle Book, The Teddy Bears' Picnic, Born Free and Blow the Wind Southerly were among the pieces to be heard at our summer concerts.

Also included were songs by Howard Goodall, Aaron Copland, Leslie Bricusse and Rodgers & Hammerstein.
And to commemorate the start of WW1 we invited the audience to join with us in singing songs that would have been familiar at that time.

Previous Concerts ...

For our 2013 Christmas Concerts we were pleased to accept invitations to perform once again for the Rotary Clubs of Huntingdon and Kimbolton Castle (both in aid of Rotary Club charities). Our third Christmas concert took place in All Saints Church, Sawtry (in aid of church funds).

Our 2013 Summer Concerts were performed at Sawtry Methodist Church; Thorney Abbey, Peterborough; and St. Andrew's Church, Great Staughton. Our varied selection of songs such as 'Dream A Dream', 'Another Op'nin, Another Show', 'Try To Remember' and 'Catch A Falling Star' was very well received. We had another opportunity to sing some of the songs from our Summer Concerts later in the year at St Peter & St Paul's Church, Alconbury cum Weston, where we were joined by guest soloists, a flute choir and a recorder group.

The first of our 2012 Christmas Concerts was at the Church of St John the Baptist, Somersham and we were very pleased that this concert also featured the Pidley Male Voice Choir. Our other 2012 Christmas concerts were at All Saints Church, Sawtry and St Andrew's Church, Kimbolton (on behalf of the Kimbolton Castle Rotary Club Charity Fund). Nearly every seat was sold for each of the three concerts and we were delighted to receive requests for future concerts from each of our hosts.

In the Spring of 2012 we held a very enjoyable joint concert with the Staffordshire WI Choir at Sawtry Community College. Later in the same year, we held a sell-out Midsummer Musical Evening on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support at St Leonard's Church, Catworth - this raised over £2000 for Macmillan and featured wonderful guest performances by Faye Hart, Martin Muir, Ibby Mallet, John Rawlinson and Gerald Ward.
