Appointment of a new Musical Director ...
Following our successful concerts in December 2017, we saw the departure of our Musical Director Angus Davidson.
This was due to Angus and his family moving to a new and exciting life in the USA.
We have been fortunate to secure the services of Katie Jeffries-Harris who is a graduate from the University of Oxford (Somerville College)
with a BA Music. As an accomplished soloist, Katie has sung the alto solos of works including
Bach's 'Easter Oratorio' (Oxford Bach Soloists), Pergolesi's 'Stabat Mater' (New Chamber Opera), Haydn's 'Mass in B Flat' (Peterborough Choral Society),
Tippett's 'A Child of Our Time' (Oxford University Chorus), and the role of Virtue in Handel's 'The Choice of Hercules' (New Chamber Opera).
In 2016 she performed as the alto soloist in Bach's 'St John Passion' alongside Robyn Allegra Parton, Nick Pritchard and Giles Underwood
for Somerville Chapel Choir.
Katie has led workshops across Peterborough and has worked closely with various choirs including
Peterborough Male Voice Choir, Peterborough Voices and Peterborough Youth Choir.

Come and Join Us ...
The choir meets every Wednesday evening in term time at 7.45 pm in Sawtry Methodist Hall, Green End Road, Sawtry.
Subscriptions from 1st January 2016 are £45 per term but you can come to a couple of rehearsals to see if singing is for you before having to pay. Full-time students do not have to pay.
If you enjoy singing and are interested in joining Sawtry Chorale, please click on 'contact' or just come along to a rehearsal and meet us.
We are always looking for new members (particularly men). There are no auditions and you do not need to be able to read music. In a recent survey our members commented that they enjoyed
the camaraderie and friendliness of the group. They also said that they enjoyed the challenge of learning something new
and the achievement of singing a song well.
Rehearsals are fun and there are many lighthearted moments ... see the photo 'gallery'
